Not that the world needed yet another fan blog about a TV show, but after a very interesting Season 7, I felt more convinced than ever that this show would benefit from having a judge on its panel each week who is merely a fan - not a choreographer, producer, or Hollywood bigwig. The Judges (capital "J" when referring to The Main Trio) might find themselves a bit more in tune with the audience if they actually ever bothered to ask why the audience votes the way it does. So, to be purely self-serving and egomaniacal, I have appointed myself "the SYTYCD Fan Judge" (until such time as the show appoints one), and with that, here is yet another fan blog about a TV show...

*GROAN*

Well, I blew it. Genuinely sorry. I missed the performance finale because of a poorly-timed vacation trip, and although I managed to watch the results finale live, there was simply no time to blog. By the time we finally got home from vacation, a few other crises had arisen, and I forgot all about the season's final blog post. *Sigh* Life happens, but I am truly sorry to leave everyone hanging!!

In short: I couldn't be happier with the result. YAAAAAAAAAAY, Melanie! From her first audition (the first the show aired this season) to the very last dance, she was the shining star that you couldn't help but root for. Personally, her victory also feels like a vindication, proof that you can be the best dancer and ALSO be America's favorite (yep, I'm still bitter about Jakob). I absolutely believe the right person won, and that Sasha is the best possible runner-up. Congratulations, Melanie!

Oh and, in case you didn't hear me scream it from the mountaintops, I'M GOING TO SEE THE SYTYCD TOUR!!! Stumbled across the ad at just the right time, got myself and my family some 3rd row seats, and am counting down the days. SYTYCD Tour, here I come! WOOHOO!!
